Benjamin Franklin

I did my report on Benjamin Franklin because he was brilliant he invented many things like one of many was the lightning rod. Once Franklin had an understanding of the behavior of electricity, he set about to protect houses from the destructive forces of lightning. A lightning rod, simply, is a rod attached to the top of a building, connected to the ground through a wire. The electric charge from lightning strikes the rod and the charge is conducted harmlessly into the ground. This protects houses from burning down and people from electrocution. A long time ago Franklin wrote, in 1753 It has pleased God in his goodness to mankind, at length to discover to them the means of securing their habitations and other buildings from mischief by thunder and lightning. The method is this: Provide a small iron rod it may be made of the rod-iron used by the nailers but of such a length, that one end being three or four feet in the moist ground, the other may be six or eight feet above the highest part of the building. To the upper end of the rod fasten about a foot of brass wire, the size of a common knitting-needle, sharpened to a fine point; the rod may be secured to the house by a few small staples. If the house or barn be long, there may be a rod and point at each end, and a middling wire along the ridge from one to the other. A house thus furnished will not be damaged by lightning, it being attracted by the points, and passing thro the metal into the ground without hurting any thing. Vessels also, having a sharp point rod fix'd on the top of their masts, with a wire from the foot of the rod reaching down, round one of the shrouds, to the water, will not be hurt by lightning.

     Stargirl
Stargirl is cheerful and really random. I think she acts like this because she doesn't want other people to feel bad because of the popular kids when they say just because you are popular or what they wear makes them superior from the rest of the school.

Stargirl is a good book to read because it will inspire you to not care what other people think about what you wear or what you like in life. I think why Jerry Spinelli made the popular kids so mean  is because there has to be conflict in the story or else it be boring. I also think that they were mean because they were jealous of stargirl because of how she treated other not like trash like her friends.

I think the author Jerry Spinelli was inspired by his kids to right such a story because look at it this way Jerry became a famous author when he was an adult but his kids weren't so the book is about two kids and how they do in school, coincidence I think not.

Stargirl's real name was Susan I think changed her name because she didn't feel like Susan was meant to be her name, she thought there was a name out there in world that would fit her. If i was the author I would have changed nothing because the book is already great by itself.

When I saw the cover of this book I thought to myself 'aw man I bet this book is boring' but I was wrong because this book isn't just entertaining but also inspirational because it inspired me to write this essay.
I also learned to not care about what other people think about how I dress and what I like in life I was never bullied in my life but I know some people who did just because they weren't popular.

Dear Mr. Parks,

I would like to thank you for eranging  the majestic field trip to the old globe theater. I like the part when it got all suspenseful and then people started to cry in the audience.

If I could invent something cool it would be earpieces for the deaf because I think it's sad that some people are so unfortunate to have functioning ears.

                                                                    Tree the movie
Today I went outside to draw two pictures my first drawing was a picture of leaves with tiny thorns. When I looked down I was surprised by the tiny things that crawled down there like ants and stuff. My second picture was a tree with two birds on it. I am proud of the second picture because I took a while to draw it and also it looks cool to me.
